LGED SPS
Globalized Local Government Engineering Directorate (LGED) is contributing to the economic development of the country by delivering services at the doorstep of people through infrastructure construction in rural and urban areas. LGED mainly develops planned physical infrastructure in the rural, urban and small scale water resources sectors at the local level. Although there is little opportunity for direct citizen involvement in LGED's work, LGED plans and implements work through the participation of local people in various ways.
In today's world of globalization, people's expectations are increasing due to expansion of education, use of information technology, impact of globalization etc. On the other hand, the conventional method of providing services from government offices is losing its effectiveness in meeting the citizens' expectations in view of the current reality. In this context, with the aim of bringing services to the doorsteps of the people by reducing service delivery time, cost and face-to-face meetings, Government Offices have initiated the Access to Information (A2I) program of the Hon'ble Prime Minister's Office. Initiatives have been taken to facilitate the delivery of important civic services. This initiative is expected to play an effective role in helping to create a digital Bangladesh.
LGED has been involved since its inception in service facilitation activities as well as in other areas of globalized citizen service improvement. There is a committee at the headquarters to properly manage and supervise the related activities.
